Quest 2010 Judges:Every attempt has been made to insure that our Quest 2010 judges are qualified to represent the judges' table. Our three judges come to us with years of expertise, whether professionally or personally, and have been educated in the classroom and in life. Each judge represents one-fourth of the total ranking for each contestant's performance. The audience's vote rounds out the final one-fourth ranking for each contestant's performance. Special guest judges will critique performances only. |

Tom Strickler is a founding judge of Quest for the Stars since it’s conception in 2006. He received his Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Shenandoah University, and his Masters of Music Education from Western Michigan University. Tom was a band and vocal director for over 20 years and has become an adjudicator for band, vocal and instrumental competitions. Tom, lovingly nick-named Simon by the Quest contestants, is the corner-stone of respected opinion for all. The Quest for the Stars program’s success is greatly due to Tom’s dedication and support. In his 5th Season as a Quest judge, Tom will expect the best from each contestant and will offer honest critiques and challenge each contestant for continued improvement. ...Tom represents the professional music educator at the judge's table. |
Kevin James Boyd is the 2009 Winner of Quest for the Stars. During his competition for Quest for the Stars he proved himself to be an energetic, versatile and talented singer. Kevin has performed publicly for serveral years and recently presented his debut solo concert at the BB&T Center for the Performing Arts to a standing room only audience. Kevin's first CD release "all roads lead home" was released on January 1, 2010 and has produced excellent sales. ...Kevin represents the aspiring vocalist and Quest veteran at the judge's table.

A Special Guest Judge will complete the judges table at each competition. This judge will be someone with musical experience and/or education with no afflilation with the 2010 contestants. ...the Special Guest Judge represents the judge with experience in music and/or performing with the element of surprise. |
